Update August 2020

Changes due to the current Health Situation

Charges and Timing: With so much uncertainty this year many brides rescheduled their wedding to Summer 2021. Some are still undecided as to when, where and how to get married in autumn. Our team offers full support for spontaneous wedding planning by offering free consultations and waving standard express charges for the time being. To find out how long the alterations of your wedding dress might take, please email us and attach some images of your dress. We will advise you.

Fitting Appointments: Consultations are available by appointment only and need to be pre-booked in advance. Due to the Government’s regulations, we need to limit the numbers to the bride and with exception to Mother-of-brides, one friend or the groom. This needs to be clarified and confirmed by us before the appointment. We are sorry but need to ensure the safety of other brides and our staff. Face masks are compulsory.

How long will my dress take?

We advise leaving about three months between your first fitting and your big day or the date you need to collect your dress. We also offer a faster alteration service if needed and depending on the time of year (our busiest months are April, May, June and July), this service is chargeable with a 25% express fee.

How many fittings will I need?

We will always make sure you are completely happy with your dress. During your first fitting, we will schedule your collection appointment, which will allow enough time for a further fitting if needed. Bridal alterations often need 2 fittings and just make sure your dress will be perfect.

How do you work out costings?

We price our services – fitting, alteration and tailoring at £60 per hour. The amount we charge directly relates to how long it takes to complete your dress.

Do I pay fitting fees?

We charge a £60 fitting in addition to alterations and any material costs. We suggest to book a one-hour-fitting appointment, but if your consultation and dress-pinning only take half an hour, we’ll only charge £30. Fitting appointments are a great opportunity to discuss the fit of your dress but also how you manage your wedding dress on the day e.g. For the evening we can apply a bustle or a hand loop to make dancing possible.

What should I bring with me to the fitting?

Bring the undergarments and shoes you are planning to wear on your wedding day. Even a different pair of shoes with the same heel height may change your hemline! If you have any queries in regards to your undergarment depending on the type of your dress, please discuss this in your fitting appointment.

How far in advance do I need to book?

During our busiest time of year (between May and July), weekends and Wednesday evening appointments are very popular. We advise booking up to four weeks in advance to secure your slot.
